Special Weather Statement issued September 22 at 6:46AM EDT by NWS Upton NY High pressure centered across northern New England and extending south into the mid Atlantic states is resulting in a dry airmass in place. Gusty northwest winds will develop today and continue into the afternoon, with gusts up to 20 to 25 miles per hour. The gusty winds, combined with low fuel moisture, and relative humidity values lowering to near 25 to 30 percent, will aid fire spread should ignition occur. Mount Sinai hospital has released the following statement regarding the patient exhibiting Ebola virus-like symptoms.

New York, NY - August 6, 2014 - "We would like to report that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have determined that the patient kept in isolation since Monday, August 4, 2014 at The Mount Sinai Hospital has tested negative for Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). The patient is in stable condition, is improving, and remains in the care of our physicians and nurses."
