Pentimento in Stony Brook Announces Closing

Written by Lon Cohen  |  07. August 2021

After 27 years in business, Pentimento restaurant in Stony Brook posted to its Facebook page an announcement notifying patrons that it will be closing this fall.

“We have been unable to extend the terms of our lease,” the note read. “Pentimento will close for business in Stony brook Village on September 30th 2021.”

They went on to thank their patrons and friends for their support over the years.

The owners said that they will be looking to relocate to another site somewhere in the Three Village area.

A seasonal Italian restaurant that specializes in house-made pasta and dedicated to a sustainable farm to table food sources, Pentimento also has a market with specialty Italian groceries, in-house prepared frozen and refrigerated, ready-to-cook specialties, fresh local produce, pantry staples, wines, and beverages.

There has been an outpouring of support (and grief) over the closing of Pentimento with many hoping to see them find a new location soon.
