At approximately 4 p.m. on Sunday, a dead body was found at Mill Pond Park in Wantagh. The body was found slumped over a log in a wooded area off the southbound Wantagh Parkway.
Seventh Precinct officers responded to the 911 call regarding the dead body found and had it transported to Nassau University Medical Center for an autopsy.
Information regarding the identity of the deceased and the cause of death has not been release.
Police have called for an “active homicide investigation” believing this individual’s death occurred at the hands of another person.
