Woman Seriously Injured in Deer Park 2 Car Crash

Deer Park, NY - August 3rd, 2015 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash that seriously injured a woman in Deer Park last night. 
 
Catherine Beaumont was driving a 2014 Toyota Prius northbound on the shoulder of Deer Park Avenue and attempted to make a U-turn to proceed southbound on Deer Park avenue when her vehicle collided with a 2013 Hyundai Genesis at 11:47 p.m.
 
Beaumont, 48, of Greenwood Drive, North Babylon, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Her husband, Paul Beaumont, 53, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.
 
The driver of the Hyundai, Joseph Echel, 19, of Deer Park was not injured.
 
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
