Infant Inclined Sleepers Recalled

Written by Catherine Eve  |  01. August 2019

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission and Dorel Juvenile Group USA are recalling approximately 24,000 inclined sleepers due to safety concerns. An announcement issued by the Commission said the sleepers being recalled are the Eddie Bauer Slumber and Soothe Rock Bassinet (Model BT055CSY) and the Disney Baby Doze and Dream Bassinet. (Model BT071DHS). According to the Commission the model numbers can be found on a label on the underneath side of the fabric of the inclined sleeper pad.

The recall is precautionary. While these specific inclined sleepers have not been associated with any injuries, infant deaths have been reported in connection with similar types of products made by Fisher-Price and Kids II when infants “rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.”

Eddie Bauer Slumber and Soothe Rock Bassinet and the Disney Baby Doze and Dream Bassinet have been sold since 2014 at T.J. Maxx, Target, Marshalls and other retailers.

The Commission said that consumers who have the sleepers should “immediately stop using them and contact Dorel for a refund in the form a $60 voucher.”
