SPCA: Westhampton Woman Charged With The Deaths Of Her Two Dogs

Westhampton, NY - August 1, 2018 - Detectives with the Suffolk County SPCA arrested a Westhampton woman and charged her with animal cruelty on Tuesday  July 31, 2018.
 
Nicy Young, 58, was charged with 2 counts of animal cruelty for failure to provide care for her 2 chihuahuas which resulted in their deaths. 
 
Young was arrested without incident. She is scheduled to appear in Southampton Justice Court  on a August 24, 2018.
 
Chief Gross said that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in Suffolk County. If you witness any incident of animal cruelty or neglect in Suffolk County please contact the Suffolk County SPCA at (631) 382-7722. All calls will be kept confidential.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
