BREAKING: Jericho Turnpike Closed After Suspicious Package Found at Commack Hand Car Wash

According to eye witness reports, Jericho Turnpike has been shut down between Indian Head Road and Commack Road after a suspicious package was found at a local car wash.

Update: 12:30 PM: According to the Commack Patch, the potential threat was determined to be a fake bomb, which was addressed to "The President of America". It was found in a car brought in to the Commack Hand Car Wash, and once the owner was made aware of its presence, he alerted the proper authorities. After a member of SCPD investigated the bomb further, it was determined to be a fake device, used by a local training agency. Although police are still looking into the origins of this fake, the situation has been neutralized. If more details become available, an update will be provided.

Commack, NY - According to eyewitness reports, and a Broadcastify.com Police Radio report, Jericho Turnpike in Commack has been closed between Indian Head Road and Commack Road, after a "suspicious package" was found at the Commack Hand Car Wash, located at 2207 Jericho Turnpike in Commack.

According to Broadcastify, which provides live audio feeds of local police radio frequencies, as of about 10:30 AM this morning, the Suffolk County Police Department has setting up a perimeter around the area, because the box contains what looks to be grenades, and wires.
