NCPD Crime Alert: Man Wanted for Valley Stream Burglary

Valley Stream, NY - July 30th, 2014 - The Fourth Squad reports the details of a Burglary which occurred on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 6:00 P.M. in Valley Stream.

According to detectives, a husband and wife, 81 years of age, were in there N. Cottage Street home when a male white suspect, 30 to 40 years of age, 5’ 10” tall, average build, with dark hair wearing a light colored tee shirt, shorts and a lanyard around his neck knocked on the door.  The suspect stated he was from the water department and needed to check the water pressure in the basement of the home.  While the suspect distracted the two victims, a second suspect entered the home and removed and undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect communicated with the second suspect for approximately 15 minutes while in the basement with the victims.  The victim discovered the money missing on Tuesday July 29 and contacted police and the water company who said they did not have anyone working in the area checking water pressure.
