SCPD Crime Alert: Lindenhurst Dollar Store Robbed

Lindenhurst, NY - July 28th, 2015 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who stole money from a man in Lindenhurst earlier this month.
 
An employee who was making a bank deposit for Family Dollar, located at 660 N. Wellwood Ave. was followed from the store to 922 North Broome St. when a man forcibly stole the bank bag from him on July 13 at approximately 2:30 p.m. The suspect fled in a black four-door vehicle with gold New York license plates.
 
The suspect was described as black, in his late 20s to early 30s, with a stocky build. He was wearing an earring in his left ear and had a cast or bandage wrap on his right hand and wrist.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
