Four Arrested in Bethpage After Attempting to Cash Forged Checks, According to Officials

Bethpage, NY - July 26, 2017 - Second Squad detectives report the arrests of four Jamaica (Queens) residents for possession of multiple forged checks that occurred in Bethpage on Tuesday, 07/25/17 at 5:05 P.M.
 
According to detectives, Bureau of Special Operations police officers, while on patrol, observed a 2004 Toyota Corolla driving with a child who was not in a safety seat into the parking lot of 4120 Hempstead Tpke. Officers then observed Suzette Lugo, 27, with her young daughter (age was not disclosed), attempt to cash a forged check at the TD Bank located at 145 Stewart Ave. After further investigation, officers found co-defendants Hakim Bey, 28, Darien Wilson, 22, and Noel Billings, 27, who were waiting in the auto, to be in possession of multiple forged checks.
 
Lugo is being charged with three counts of Possession Forged Instrument 2nd Degree, Grand Larceny 3rd Degree (Attempt), and Endangering Welfare of Child. Bey is being charged with nine counts of Possession Forged Instrument 2nd Degree and Grand Larceny 3rd Degree (Attempt). Wilson is being charged with five counts of Possession Forged Instrument 2nd Degree and Grand Larceny 3rd Degree (Attempt). Billings is being charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree (Attempt). All four defendants will be arraigned on Wednesday, 07/26/17 in First District, Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
