Farmingdale, NY, July 2013 – Legislator Sarah Anker has announced that the “Hiring our Heroes” military career fair will take place at Farmingdale Armed Forces Reserve Center on August 14th from 10am to 1pm, with an employment workshop at 9am. The event, which is co-sponsored by the Suffolk County Veteran’s Service Agency, will assist veterans and other military job seekers in finding employment.
“Our men and women of the armed forces made great sacrifices for our country,” said Legislator Anker. “It’s vital that we support our local veterans and help them to find employment.”
The Hiring Our Heroes employment workshop will focus on resume writing, tips for successfully navigating job fairs, military skill translation, and interviewing.
