Long Islander Wins Save The Sound Photo Contest

Written by Lon Cohen  |  28. July 2020

A log rests on a rocky beach. In the distance are the deep blue waters of the Long Island Sound. A lone sailboat floats out of frame to the right. In the foreground sky ominous clouds threaten while just behind are scattered blue skies. It is an image filled with texture, color and brings out the beauty of the Long Island shoreline.

The picture above was captured by Colleen Kelly, of Middle Island, at Cedar Beach in Mount Sinai. Kelly’s photograph won first place in the Save the Sound Photo Contest, which was announced on the Save the Sound Facebook page on June 28.
