Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Motor Vehicle in East Farmingdale, Cops Say

Fredy Leonel Maldonado of West Babylon, 42, was crossing Route 110 when he was struck by a southbound vehicle, cops say.

Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in East Farmingdale.
 
Fredy Leonel Maldonado was crossing Route 110 from east to west at the intersection of Conklin Avenue when he was struck by a southbound 2017 Dodge RAM 1500. The driver of the Dodge, a 29-year-old North Massapequa man, called 911 and attempted to render first aid to Maldonado.
 
Maldonado, 42, of West Babylon, was transported via ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage where he was pronounced dead. 
 
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
