SCPD: Patchogue Man Arrested After Robbing Two 7-Elevens an Hour and a Half Apart

Suffolk County, NY - July 24, 2018 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a man who robbed two 7-Eleven stores, an hour and a half apart, on Monday, July 23, 2018.
 
A man entered 7-Eleven, located at 139 Sunrise Highway in East Patchogue at approximately 1:30 a.m., displayed a gun and demanded cash from the clerk. The clerk complied and the man fled on foot. At approximately 3:05 a.m., the same man entered 7-Eleven, located at 863 Montauk Highway in Bayport, displayed a gun and demanded cash from the clerk. The clerk complied and the man fled on foot.
 
After a thorough investigation, Fifth Squad detectives determined Daniel Riemenschneider was responsible for both armed robberies. Riemenschneider, 35, of Patchogue, was arrested at approximately 7 p.m. as he was leaving his workplace located, on Ocean Avenue in Ronkonkoma.
 
Riemenschneider was charged with two counts of Robbery 1st Degree and one count Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. He will be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on July 24.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
