July 17, 2013 - New York, USA - Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer William J. Lindsay and the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce co-sponsored a free concert at the Holbrook Country Club on Wednesday, July 17. Big Shot, a Billy Joel Tribute Band, performed for a crowd of well over 1,000 people.

“It has been my pleasure to work together with the Holbrook Chamber to bring a national act like Big Shot to our community,” said Presiding Officer Lindsay. “We couldn’t ask for a better night with great music, amazing friends and perfect weather.”

“Thanks to County Legislator Bill Lindsay and his dedicated staff, the chamber was able to co-host another amazing free concert for the Holbrook community,” said Holbrook Chamber of Commerce President Rick Ammirati. “Although the day started out very hot, the evening cooled off and we had a beautiful evening with singing and dancing among family and friends. A special thank you to Big Shot and the sound crew for a performance that was above and beyond what was promised.”

Many of the concert goers voluntarily supported the Holbrook Beautification Committee’s fundraising effort. This organization keeps our community clean and well-maintained during these tough economic times.

Legislator Lindsay and the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the Holbrook Fire Department, the Islip Town Parks Department, the Suffolk County Fire Rescue Emergency Services Department and the Suffolk County Police Department for their cooperation and assistance in making this a fun and safe event for our residents.
