SCPD: Middle Island Man Arrested for Multiple Larcenies from Parked Vehicles

Suffolk County Police arrested a Middle Island man for multiple thefts since May from different vehicles parked in residential areas in Middle Island and Ridge.
 
Following an investigation by Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers, Michael Pearl was identified in several larceny cases where he took items from parked, unlocked cars in the Ridge and Middle Island areas.
 
Pearl was charged with six counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property for:
 
  • Stealing power tools from a 2001 Ford E350, parked on Oakridge Circle, Ridge, on May 22.
  • Stealing landscaping tools from a 2019 Sparta utility trailer, parked on Ashford Dr., Ridge, on July 8.
  • Stealing coins and sunglasses from a 2012 Ford F250 and a 2008 Ford Edge, parked on Ryan Ct., Ridge, on July 18.
  • Stealing gift cards and cash from a 2016 Hyundai Elantra, parked on Kastal Dr., Ridge, on July 18.
  • Stealing headphones from an unknown vehicle on Kastal Dr., in Ridge, on July 18.
  • Stealing a knife from an unspecified car parked on Kastal Dr., in Ridge, on July 19.
Pearl, 26, of Middle Island, was held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
