Police Report Home Invasion and Robbery Case after Woman Engages in Small Talk with Men

Garden City Park, NY - July 22, 2016 - Third Squad detectives are investigating a Robbery that occurred on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 8:05 pm in Garden City Park.

According to detectives, while walking her dog near her Hillside Drive South residence, the 61 year old female became engaged into small talk regarding her dog with an unknown male black and an unknown male Hispanic who happened by.

After entering her home and heading towards the side door to lock it, the same male Hispanic entered the house and grabbed her in a bear hug. The same male black then entered from the back door and both subjects pushed the victim to the floor of a nearby bedroom threatening to kill her if she turned around and looked at them.

After a few minutes passed, with the lack of any noise in the house, the victim got up and called 911.

After a search of the home was conducted, it was discovered that an undisclosed amount of money had been removed from an upstairs closet.

The uninjured victim could only further describe both subjects as being around 5’10” tall and in their early 20’s.
