Police Responding to Residence for Elderly Female Aided Case Discovered at Least 40 Dogs in Home

East Meadow, NY - July 21, 2016 - The Nassau County police Department report an Unusual Incident that occurred on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 3:15 pm in East Meadow.

According to police, First Precinct Police responded to a Powers Avenue residence for an elderly female aided case. Upon arrival, officers’ discovered at least 40 dogs along with a strong odor emanating from the residence. The Nassau County Police HAZMAT Unit was requested by police due to the strong odor. The NCSPCA, Nassau County Fire Marshal and the town of Hempstead building Department were also at scene to remove the animals and condemn the residence. The elderly female resident was transported in a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation.
