Cedarhurst Man Killed in Car Accident in East Meadow
East Meadow, NY - July 22nd, 2014 - Third Squad detectives are investigating a fatal auto accident that occurred in East Meadow on Monday, 07/21/14 at 7:08 P.M.
According to detectives, Paul Wentz, 50, of Cedarhurst, while operating a 2012 Subaru Outback westbound on Hempstead Tpke., lost control of his vehicle, crossed over the divider and all eastbound lanes of Hempstead Tpke., striking two utility poles. After striking the poles, the deceased’s vehicle overturned.
Nassau County Police Ambulance transported the deceased to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead by a staff physician at 7:34 P.M. No other injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing. The vehicle was impounded for brake and safety checks.
