Sound Beach, NY, July 2013 – Legislator Sarah Anker joined the Sound Beach Civic Association in celebrating Sound Beach Weekend on Saturday, July 20th.  The weekend consisted of a community yard sale, arts and crafts, and community wide open houses.

“Sound Beach is a very special community,” said Legislator Anker. “Events such as this remind us of the unique and wonderful character of our neighborhoods. This is a great opportunity to support our neighbors and celebrate our home.”

The Sound Beach Civic Association will continue to celebrate the community on Sunday, July 28th with its annual Chinese Auction and Food Fair. The event will take place from 4pm to 8pm at the Sound Beach Fire House. Over a dozen local restaurants and merchants will be attendance. Proceeds will benefit the association’s high school scholarship fund, and this year’s scholarship winners will be recognized. For more information, visit
