Crime Report: Hempstead Man Arrested for Murdering Teen with Machete; Body Parts Found at Tobay Beach

Hempstead Man Arrested for Murdering Teen with Machete
According to Nassau County Police, a Hempstead man was arrested on Friday night and is being charged with murder following a confrontation with a 17-year-old.
 
David Sadler, 45, got into a verbal argument with Terrance Grier, 17 of Hempstead, that resulted in Sadler striking Grier in the neck with a machete. The incident occurred at 5:25 p.m. Sadler then fled the scene.
 
Grier was taken to a local hospital by a Nassau County Police ambulance. He was pronounced dead at 6:08 p.m. Sadler was found by police on Henry Street in Hempstead and was placed under arrest.
 
Sadler is being charged with Murder in the 2nd degree and was scheduled for arraignment on Saturday, July 19 at the Frist District Court in Hemsptead.

Body Parts Found at Tobay Beach
An incident occurred at Tobay Beach in Massapequa that resulted in the temporary closing of the beach by Nassau County Police on Friday afternoon.
 
According to police, a lifeguard at the beach discovered what appeared to be human organs floating in the water at Tobay Beach. The lifeguard gathered them and contacted police.
 
Nassau County Police Medical Technicians arrived at the scene and could not determine the origin of the body parts. The beach was evacuated temporarily as homicide detectives in the Seventh Squad conducted an investigation.
 
After the remains were brought to the Nassau County Medical Examiner, it was determined that the body parts were not human. The beach was reopened.
