Police Seeking Man Who Pilfered Poor Box at Port Jefferson Church

Port Jefferson, NY - July 19, 2017 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public's help to identify and locate the man who stole cash from a church in Port Jefferson, New York this month.
 
A man entered Infant Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 110 Myrtle Avenue, Port Jefferson on July 9 at 10:00 p.m. Surveillance video shows the man forcing open donation boxes and removing cash. The suspect is described as a thin black male with facial hair, wearing light jeans, a tee shirt with horizontal stripes, and a baseball cap.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
