La Candela, a new Peruvian restaurant opened in Huntington Station.

The appetizer menu features a cholita sala, with Peruvian corn, cherry tomatoes, lima beans, queso fresco, and Peruvian quinoa, served with a special Peruvian dressing; a papitas ala huancaina, which is potatoes covered with their huancaina sauce prepared with milk, cheese and peruvian yellow peppers; and ostras en leche de tigre, oysters accompanied with authentic leche de tigre.

They also have a  variety of causas - Peruvian cold casserole - and ceviches - Peruvian marinated raw fish or seafood - on the menu.

On Yelp, Samantha F, from Kings Park, loved the atmosphere.

“Came in last minute on a Saturday night with the girls from work,” she wrote. “They had live music. The guy was so fun, goes from salsa to Frank Sinatra, so a little of everything. The restaurant itself is beautiful, such a modern vibe.”

Melissa V, from Westbury, gave it five stars.

“Great new Peruvian restaurant,” she wrote.
