Massapequa, NY - July 18th, 2014 - The Seventh Squad reports the details of an unusual incident that occurred in Massapequa on July 18, 2014 at 12:46 pm.

According to detectives, a Tobay Beach lifeguard working on the bay side of the beach observed and gathered unknown organ parts floating in the water and called police. Seventh Precinct police along with Nassau County Police Medical Technicians arrived and could not determine the origin of the remains. The beach was temporarily evacuated and an investigation was conducted by Seventh Squad and Homicide detectives. The remains were then brought to the Nassau County Medical Examiner’s Office where it was determined the remains were not human. The beach was reopened with no further restrictions.
