Bicyclist Seriously Injured after Being Struck by a Motor Vehicle in Huntington

Huntington, NY - July 17, 2015 - Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash which seriously injured a bicyclist this afternoon.

Paul McQueen was riding a bicycle northbound on Park Avenue, north of Dix Hills Road in Huntington when he apparently turned into the path of a 2000 Jeep driven by John Heyman and was struck.

McQueen, 54, of Huntington Station, was transported to Huntington Hospital where he was admitted in serious condition. Heyman, 75, of Huntington, was not injured in the crash.

The vehicle was impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
