Barraga Congratulates Mary Haedrich for Receiving Young Women In Public Affairs Award

July 15, 2013 – West Islip, NY – Recently the Zonta Club of Suffolk County held a ceremony to congratulate the recipients of the Young Women in Public Affairs and Jane Klausman Award winners. In recognition of Mary Haedrich, a West Islip High School Senior receiving the award, Suffolk County Legislator Tom Barraga (R-West Islip) presented Mary with a proclamation.

The Young Women in Public Affairs Award was established to encourage more young women to participate in public and political life by recognizing them for their volunteer leadership and dedication to the advancement of the status of women. Three local high school students were honored and awarded scholarships from Zonta Club of Suffolk County.

The Zonta Club of Suffolk County, a member of Zonta International, is a global organization comprised of executive and professional women working for the advancement of women and girls through service and advocacy.
