Brentwood Man Killed After Falling from Bucket Truck While Cutting Tree

Lindenhurst, NY - July 15, 2016 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which a man died after falling out of a bucket truck while cutting down trees in Lindenhurst today.

Oscar Martinez was working in the bucket of a bucket truck, cutting trees, at 131 Akron Street, when he fell from the truck to the ground at approximately 2:53 p.m.

Martinez, 35, of Brentwood was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead.

The incident appears to be non-criminal. An autopsy will be conducted by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have been notified.
