Floral Park Man Arrested for Breaking Into Parked Cars in Franklin Square

Franklin Square, NY - July 13th, 2015 - The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Floral Park man for Grand Larceny that occurred on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 4:53 p.m. in Franklin Square.

According to detectives, Fifth Precinct Officers responded to a call for larceny from an auto that occurred in the parking lot of 1040 Hempstead Turnpike. Upon their arrival they were given a description of the defendant Daniel Cappelli, 37 of Violet Avenue, which they located a short distance away and placed him under arrest.  

A Subsequent investigation by detectives discovered that on June 8, 2015 Cappelli removed property from a car in the parking lot of 740 Hempstead Turnpike, Franklin Square. He also removed property from a parked vehicle at 990 Holzheimer Street, Franklin Square on July 5, 2015 and made fraudulent purchases with the victim’s credit card.

Cappelli is charged with two counts of Grand Larceny 4th degree, Petit Larceny, Forgery 3rd degree and Identity Theft 3rd degree. He will be arraigned on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
