NCPD: Manhasset Man Engaged in Sex Chat with Undercover Agent Posing as 11 Year-Old
Manhasset, NY - July 12, 2018 - Nassau County Special Victim’s Squad-Child Exploitation Section detectives report the Arrest of a Manhasset man for Disseminating Indecent Material to a Minor that occurred on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 8:10 p.m. in Manhasset.
Nassau County SVS, in conjunction with U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations, conducted an online undercover operation regarding child exploitation. During the course of the investigation, Ashok Vora, 70, went online and contacted an undercover agent posing as an 11 year old female. The defendant directed the agent to an online chat, at which point he exposed himself via web camera and engaged in sexual conversation. Further investigation discovered Vora’s location where he was arrested without incident.
Detectives request anyone that has been contacted online by the defendant, who uses the username KevinNY, to contact Special Victim’s Unit at 516-573-4022.
Ashok Vora is charged with Attempted Disseminating Indecent Material to a Minor. He was arraigned on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
