Officials: Farmingdale Man Used Apartment Rental Scheme to Defraud Renters

Farmingdale, NY - July 6, 2018 - The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Farmingdale man for Grand Larceny on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11:00 p.m. in Farmingdale.
 
According to detectives, Konstantine Sousouris, 41, posted an ad on Craigslist in October of 2017 for an apartment located in Farmingdale. He showed the apartment to three different victims on three separate occasions and requested an undisclosed amount of US currency as a deposit. This took place in November of 2017, February 2018 and March 2018. Each victim paid the subject and was never allowed to move into the apartment. The subject failed to return the money to each victim.
 
A thorough investigation was conducted and the subject was arrested at his residence without incident.
 
The defendant, Konstantine Sousouris, is charged with three (3) counts of Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Scheme to Defraud 1st Degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, July 6, 2018 in First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
