NY Taxi Cab Driver Robbed at Gunpoint in Roosevelt Early in the Morning on July 4th

Roosevelt, NY - July 4, 2016 - The First Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Monday, July 04, 2016 at 1:50 am in Roosevelt.

According to detectives, a 28 year old male victim was seated inside his NY Taxi Cab, when he was dispatched to pick up a fair on Elmwood Avenue.  While parked on the corner of Oakwood Avenue and Elmwood Avenue, two (2) unknown male subjects approached the victim. Subject #1 opened the driver’s side door, displayed a black handgun and demanded money.  Subject # 2 entered the rear passenger side door and placed a hard object believed to be a handgun against the victims’ head.  The victim complied with an undetermined amount of US currency.  The subjects fled the scene eastbound on Elmwood Avenue.  Subject # 1 is described as a male black, thin build approximately 5’5” tall.  Subject # 2 is described as a male black.  There were no reported injuries.
