NCPD Seeking Man Who Attempted to Abduct 13 Year-Old Walking Home from School

UPDATE: Jarrod James, 24, of Roosevelt has been arrested for the below crime.
 
Defendant Jarrod James is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Assault 2nd degree, Attempted Kidnapping 2nd degree and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing/Blood Circulation. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The First Squad reports the details of an Attempted Abduction that occurred in Uniondale.
 
According to detectives, a 13 year old female victim was walking home after leaving Lawrence Road Middle School (located at 50 Lawrence Road in Hempstead) when she noticed an unknown male standing in the parking lot. The male subject (pictured) began to follow the victim for approximately half a mile when the victim turned onto Adams St. When the victim approached her residence, the subject chased her and grabbed her from behind, putting his hand over her mouth. The victim struggled and was able to momentarily escape his grasp before he grabbed her again, trying to drag her being parked cars. The victim again fought off the subject and ran into her home. The subject fled the scene on foot towards Nassau Road.
 
The subject is described as a black male, 5’5” tall with a thin build. He was wearing “Camo” pants and a blue shirt with the letters “NYC” and “AERO” on the front.
