Cops: Elmont Man Arrested after After Breaking into House, Sexually Abusing Juvenile

The Fifth Squad Detectives report the arrest of a man for Sexual Abuse that occurred in Elmont.
 
According to Detectives, defendant Alex Rivera, 24, of Elmont, did enter an apartment, in which a juvenile female was inside and proceeded to touch the victim inappropriately against her will. The victim fought with Alex Rivera to get away several times before successfully escaping him and alerting her parents of the intruder. Once the parents were alerted, defendant Alex Rivera ran away in an unknown direction. Defendant Alex Rivera did later surrender himself in to Nassau Police at the 5th Precinct.
 
Defendant Alex Rivera is charged with Burglary 2nd degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Sexual Abuse 3rd degree, Sexually Motivated Felony and Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd degree. He was arraigned at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
