As temperatures tonight fall back to below zero well inland and into the single digits most elsewhere, wind chills will remain at least a few degrees colder as brisk northwest winds take some time to diminish. Wind chills will be mostly 5 to 10 below zero, but may reach 15 below in a few inland spots, mainly in the higher elevations. Temperatures and wind chills will both moderate by Tuesday afternoon as the core of the Arctic air mass bringing US this cold begins to slide east. Suffolk County SPCA Charges Nesconset Woman With Animal Cruelty After Allegedly Starving 9 Horses

Vanessa Costello, 29, of Nesconset, NY was charged for failure to provide proper sustenance including veterinary care to 9 horses.

SPCA Detectives have charged Vanessa Costello of Nesconset, 29, with 9 counts of Animal Cruelty.

Nesconset, NY - July 3, 2017 - Suffolk County SPCA Detectives have charged a Nesconset woman with 9 counts of Animal Cruelty on June 30, 2017 
 
Vanessa Costello, 29, of Nesconset, NY was charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty for failure to provide proper sustenance including veterinary care. The horses were being boarded in Bohemia. Many were suffering from health issues and were emaciated.

Costello will appear in First District Court in Central Islip on August 31th, 2017.
