UPDATE: 23-Year-Old Man Found Lying on the Sidewalk with Multiple Gunshot Wounds Dead, Investigation Continuing
Update - July 7, 2016 - Homicide Squad detectives report the arrest of Manuel Howe, 17, and Delroy Carter, 25, both of Hempstead, in connection with the below incident.
Howe is charged with Murder 2nd Degree and Carter is charged with Hindering a Prosecution. Both defendants will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 07/07/2016.
Update - July 3, 2016 - Homicide Squad detectives have identified the deceased individual as LaDaniel McCloud of Hempstead.

Hempstead, NY - July 2, 2016 - The Homicide Squad is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday, July 02, 2016 at 5:41a.m. in Hempstead.
According to detectives, Hempstead Police Officers responded to Laurel Street for a male lying on the sidewalk. Upon their arrival the officers discovered a male, 23 years of age, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased by a medic from the LIJ Ambulance service at 5:55 a.m. at the scene. The investigation is continuing.
