Two People Found Dead on a Boat in Cherry Grove, Authorities Report

Cherry Grove, NY - July 2, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which two people were found dead on a boat in Cherry Grove on Sunday, July 1, 2018.
 
Peter D’Ancona and Tina Sgambati were found on a 35-foot Mainship boat docked near Bayview Walk in Cherry Grove at approximately 2:25 p.m. D’Ancona, 54, of Moriches, and Sgambati, 51, of Moriches, were pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
 
The deaths appear to have been caused by carbon monoxide poisoning. The investigation is continuing.
