Two Queens Men Arrested Following Pursuit, According to Suffolk Police

Dix Hills, NY - June 30, 2017 - Suffolk County Police today arrested two men in Dix Hills following a pursuit on the Long Island Expressway on Friday, June 30, 2017 at approximately 2 a.m.
 
Highway Patrol Bureau Sergeant Peter Clancy observed the operator of a 2016 Nissan Sentra driving erratically westbound on the Long Island Expressway near exit 62 at approximately 2 a.m. Sgt. Clancy attempted to pull over the vehicle but the driver fled.
 
The driver of the Sentra and an acquaintance, who was driving nearby in a Chevrolet began weaving through traffic. The drivers refused to stop for the Sgt. and Highway Patrol Bureau Officer Robert Scudellari deployed stop sticks which stopped the Chevrolet. The Nissan continued and Sgt. Clancy was able to bring the vehicle to a stop on the Long Island Expressway at Exit 52 in Dix Hills.
 
Highway Patrol Bureau charged the driver of the Nissan, Robert Richards, 32, of Springfield Gardens, Queens, with Reckless Driving and Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree. Second Squad detectives charged the driver of the Chevrolet, Donzel Raywhyte, 28, of Arverne, Queens, with three counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st Degree for possessing three forged out of state licenses. Highway Patrol Bureau charged Raywhyte with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 2nd Degree and False Personation.
 
Richards was held overnight at the Second Precinct and scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip today. Raywhyte will be held overnight at the Second Precinct tonight and scheduled for arraignment tomorrow.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
