Update: NYSHA Offers Reward for Information on Dead Rooster Hanging From Tree

Update - July 2, 2014 - The New York State Humane Association (NYSHA), headquartered in Kingston, NY, announces a $1000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for mutilating and killing a rooster. The person or persons responsible for this gruesome crime must be found and brought to justice. If anyone has information about the case, they are urged to call the Suffolk County SPCA at (631) 382-7722.  
Original Release - Islip, NY - June 29, 2014 - The Suffolk County SPCA is seeking information from the public about a dead rooster found hanging from a tree in Islip.
The dead rooster was found tied to the tree and it's eyes had been plucked out.  A candle was also found nearby.  The rooster was found at the intersection of Spur Drive South and Freeman Avenue.
Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk County SPCA said that anyone with information is asked to call the Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-7722.  All calls will be kept confidential.
