Long Island Cares and BCCA to Host Art Feeds Hunger Exhibit July 16-31 in Lindenhurst

Lindenhurst, NY - June 30, 2014 - Long Island Cares, Inc.-The Harry Chapin Food Bank and the Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts will co-sponsor an exhibit from Art Feeds Hunger this July. The exhibit, called "The Faces of Hunger", will feature twenty framed pieces of artwork by artist and Art Feeds Hunger founder Lewis Isaac Testa. There will be ten drawings specifically related to hunger, and ten portraits of musicians and recording artists who are closely aligned with several charities and causes, such as Harry Chapin, Billy Joel, Dee Snider and John Lennon. The exhibit will be on display from July 16-31, 2014 at the BACCA Arts Center, 149 North Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst.  
 
The exhibit will be open Monday-Thursday 12:00-7:30 PM except for Wednesday, July 16 12:00-6:00 PM and Tuesday, July 29 12:00-3:00 PM, and will also be open Friday July 18 3:00-6:00 PM, Friday July 25 6:00-9:00 PM, and Saturday & Sunday 10:00 AM-3:00 PM. Anyone interested in attending the exhibit is encouraged to visit the calendar of events on licares.org before doing so to confirm exhibit hours.   Long Island Cares staff and volunteers will be at the BACCA Arts Center to welcome visitors, and to collect donations of non-perishable food to support the work of Long Island Cares Inc. - The Harry Chapin Food Bank.  Information about the broad array of programs and services provided to the community by Long Island Cares will also be available, as well as the opportunity to purchase tee-shirts, CDs and prints of the artwork on display.
