NCPD: Man Arrested for Driving Stolen Vehicle with Loaded Gun and Drugs

Uniondale, NY - June 29, 2014 - The First Squad reports the arrest of two men at 3:00am on June 29, 2014 in Uniondale.
 
According to Detectives, Police Officers observed a 1997 Buick Century on northbound Nassau Road and Avenue B.  The vehicle had a cracked windshield and the operator failed to signal when turning onto Avenue B causing the Officers to perform a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop. During the investigation Officers observed partially burned white/brown cigarettes believed to be marijuana and on the floor near the driver side mat Officers found a black ski mask with a loaded and defaced Raven Arms MP-25, .25 caliber silver semi-automatic handgun. The investigation also determined that the subjects were driving a stolen vehicle.
 
Officers arrested and charged driver, defendant Terrell D. Beckett, 23, of 18 Van Cott Avenue Hempstead with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm, one count of Criminal Use of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, and Criminal Possession of Marijuana along with four VTL violations. The passenger, defendant Tyshon M. Beckett, 22, of 29 E. Clinton Avenue Roosevelt is charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, one count of Criminal Use of a Firearm and one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. Both defendants will be arraigned on June 30, 2014 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
