DunHuang Opens in Syosset

With locations in Queens., Brooklyn, and Manhattan, New Jersey and Los Angeles, DunHuang is bringing its authentic noodles to Long Island. The restaurant serves up a variety of lamb entrees including their Dunhuang Lamb Chops, served with garlic and house special seasoning, Crispy Lamb Chops, which are roasted and comes with their special sauce, and the Lamb Pot, of lamb soup with sliced lamb meat and scallions, topped with cilantro. They also have chicken and steak meals.

The fresh hand-pulled noodle dishes are what people come to DunHuang for and you can choose from extra thin, regular, thick, wide, or extra wide. Among the many styles are Lanzhou Beef Noodles in prime beef broth with marinated beef cilantro, and radish; Braised Beef Noodles with spicy brown sauce, beef stew and bok choy; Zhajiang Noodles with simmering stir-fried ground pork and salty soybean paste; and Chongqing Spicy and Hot Noodles, which is hot and spicy noodles with peas, sesame and peanut butter pastes, scallion and bok choy.

 

On Yelp, Phil K, from Huntington Station, said he was waiting for DunHuang to open for a long time. 

 

“COVID delayed the opening for a year,” he wrote. “It was worth the wait.”

 

Bonnie L, from Forest Hills, Queens, said she was excited find out an authentic noodle place opened in Syosset.

 

“We ordered 3 bowls of their signature Lanzhou noodles with different texture (you can choose from 5 types from extra thin to extra wide),” she said. “We also got the spicy cumin lamb rougamo, zha Jiang noodles and marinated cucumber. Food arrived quick + hot and all 4 of us enjoyed the meal. The only recommendation we have is their spicy oil wasn't not spicy enough.”
