Legislator Anker Celebrates Grand Opening of Coram Center for Adults with Developmental Disabilities

On June 18th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the grand opening of the Coram Center for Adults with Developmental Disabilities.

Cary and Marisela Staller were honored with a proclamation from Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker, who was joined by Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine, and other officials and famiy members.

Coram, NY - June 29, 2018 - On Monday, June 18th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the grand opening of the Coram Center for Adults with Developmental Disabilities. Also in attendance were Cary and Marisela Staller of Staller Associates who helped fund and build the Coram Center. After the ribbon cutting, guests were invited to stay and tour the facility. The Coram Center programs will offer services to individuals who require various levels of support, oversight and training. Programs include healthy meal planning and food preparation, cardiovascular health and weight management, music and arts, technology, gardening, and opportunities for peer relationships and social interaction.
 
“The Coram Center programs promote better quality of life and independence for Suffolk County residents,” said Legislator Anker. “I applaud the efforts of the center for providing these resources for our disabled residents.”
 
The Coram Center is located at 217 Middle Country Road in Coram, the geographic center of Suffolk County. The building comprises of 8,000 square feet plus dedicated outdoor space. For more information please call Legislator Anker’s office at (631) 854-1600.
