Valley Stream Dump Truck Accident Results in One Dead, Nassau Police Say
Valley Stream, NY - June 27, 2018 - The Homicide Squad is investigating a Serious Accident that occurred in Valley Stream on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 7:37 am.
According to detectives, a 53 year old male was operating a 1995 Mitsubishi Dump truck with a 2007 trailer attached. The truck was stopped at a red traffic signal light eastbound on Wheeler Avenue at Rockaway Parkway. As the light turned green the truck pulled away causing passenger Roberto Ulloa, 47, of Hempstead who was seated in the back of the truck to fall onto the roadway and struck by the attached trailer. He suffered serious trauma to his body.
A Nassau County Police ambulance transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased by a hospital physician at 8:31 am. The truck / trailer were both impounded for a brake and safety test. The investigation is ongoing.
