Officials: Deliveryman Charged With Running Over Rockville Centre Man After Altercation, Fleeing Scene

Rockville Centre, NY - June 27, 2018 - The First Squad reports the Arrest of a Lido Beach man for Assault that occurred on June 26, 2018 at 4:10 p.m. in Rockville Centre.
 
According to detectives, Eric Grossman, 53, made a delivery to the home of the victim, a 45 year old man, on June 24, 2018 at 1:45 p.m. When the victim requested a receipt for his merchandise, the defendant refused and an argument ensued. The defendant then struck the victim with his truck, causing him to jump on the hood. Grossman continued to drive away, causing the victim to fall off the truck and suffer multiple injuries. Grossman fled the scene in his vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
 
After an investigation, the defendant was placed under arrest without incident.
 
Eric Grossman is charged with Assault 1st Degree, Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Serious Physical Injury and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th Degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
