NCPD Crime Alert: Man Wanted for Robbing Wantagh Bank

Wantagh, NY - June 27th, 2014 - The Robbery Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred in Wantagh on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 11:18 am.

According to detectives, a male subject described as white, 40-50 years old, 5’7” tall, thin build, bald head, unshaven face, clear lensed glasses, red/white short sleeved shirt, blue jeans, blue sneakers, entered the Astoria Federal Savings Bank located at 1149 Wantagh Avenue and presented a note to a female teller demanding cash. The subject obtained an undisclosed amount of US currency and fled on foot in an unknown direction. There were 7 employees and 2 customers present at the time. There were no injuries reported.

Detectives request that anyone with information regarding this crime to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
