Lindenhurst Man Drove on Drugs with 11 Year-Old in Vehicle, According to NCPD

The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrest of a Lindenhurst man for DWI-Leandra’s Law in Garden City.
 
According to Police, units responded to the Roosevelt Field Mall located at 630 Old Country Road for an auto accident. Upon arrival, they discovered defendant Thomas Dalton, 48, bent over next to a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee which had been in a collision. The defendant was incoherent and was unable to stand. 
 
A subsequent investigation was conducted and Dalton was placed under arrest without incident. An adult female and her 11 year-old daughter were in the car at the time of the incident. The defendant was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. The passengers were not injured.
 
Defendant Dalton is charged with DWAI Drugs, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Child under 16) under the Leandra Law and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
