Silver Alert Cancelled: Bay Shore Teen Found

Update - July 3, 2014 - Lindsey Mattern has been located, unharmed. Below is the original Silver Alert.

Bay Shore, NY - June 26th, 2014 - The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert  for a missing teen who is believed to be suicidal.

Lindsey Mattern, 15, of 1403 Potters Blvd., Bay Shore, was last seen at her home on June 9 at 10 p.m.  At  4 p.m. today, Mattern texted a detective and stated that she was suicidal.  

Lindsey is described as a white female, 5 feet tall, approximately 120 pounds, with hazel eyes  and long brown hair.  She has a mole on her upper lip.

Anyone with information on this person’s location is asked to contact the Third Squad detectives at 631-854-8352 or call 911.

As a reminder, Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
