NCPD: Massapequa Man in Custody After Stealing Tools, Cash from Employer

Hicksville, NY - June 25, 2018 - The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Massapequa man for Burglary that occurred in Hicksville on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 7:30 am.
 
According to detectives, two male employees ages 19 and 59 were at work waiting for it to open. It was the AAAA-1 Towing located at 112 Duffy Avenue. While there the employees observed a third employee they recognized as Robert Marcotrigiano, 38, loading up various tools belonging to the Towing company into his 2016 Dodge and then leaving in his car. He reported back to work a short time later. A 50 year old male manager after speaking to him called the police. 
 
Second Precinct police arrived and it was discovered that multiple tools along with US currency in excess of $ 1900.00 dollars was missing. Second Precinct police placed the defendant Marcotrigiano into police custody without incident. There were no injuries reported. Further investigation revealed the missing tools were recovered from the defendant’s residential garage and a plastic bag containing a brownish colored powder believed to be heroin and one 8mg Suboxone sublingual film was recovered from his 2016 Dodge.
 
Robert Marcotrigiano is charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Stolen Property 3rd Degree, and Grand Larceny 4th Degree. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday, Friday, June 23, 2018.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
