County Executive Bellone, Suffolk Police Officials Host Security Training Workshop for Local Religious Leaders

Brentwood, NY - June 25, 2015 - Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and the Suffolk County Police Department are hosting a security training workshop for clergy members and their congregants at the Suffolk County Police Academy today.

In light of the fatal shootings at a church in Charleston, South Carolina, Suffolk County Police want to ensure that houses of worship are following and implementing security protocols that will protect their congregants and provide a safe environment to worship.

Officials will speak about crime prevention protocols and specific security measures that can be followed at houses of worship.

When:        Thursday, June 25, 2015, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Where:       Suffolk County Police Academy, 502 Wicks Road, Brentwood
