Paul Reiser Comes To The 2013 Comedy Club At Bay Street Theatre Monday, July 15

May 25th, 2013 – Sag Harbor, NY – Bay Street Theatre’s Comedy Club, sponsored by Madison & Main Restaurant and Bar, continues July 15 with Paul Reiser. Audiences know Paul Reiser as Paul Buchanan from NBC’s Mad About You where he starred with Helen Hunt, garnering him an Emmy, Golden Globe, American Comedy Award and Screen Actors Guild nominations for Best Actor in a Comedy Series.  He also had his own show in 2011 entitled The Paul Reiser Show. Other television includes Showtimes’s Strange Relations and Men vs. Women. Films include as Diner, Aliens; Bye, Bye Love; The Marrying Man, One Night at McCool’s, and Beverly Hills Cop (I and II), and The Thing About My Folks.  He recently finished HBO’s Behind The Candelabra starring opposite Matt Damon, Michael Douglas and Dan Aykroyd. Reiser made his theatrical debut in Woody Allen’s Writer’s Block. Books include New York Times bestsellers Couplehood and Babyhood, which was followed by Familyhood. He co-wrote The Final Frontier – the theme song from Mad About You with Grammy-winning producer Don Was.

David Brenner, stand-up comedian, author, and founder and creator of funnydeli.com returns to the Comedy Club on Monday, July 22. Recognized as a political pundit who can be seen regularly on television news shows, Brenner regularly finds humor in current events. Brenner has completed four HBO Specials, the latest being David Brenner: Back with a Vengeance, which he performed live. The show was one of HBO’s highest rated specials and The Hollywood Reporter proclaimed, "He’s edgier and more insightful in his skewering of popular culture than ever before.” Brenner is also a successful writer/producer/director of 115 television documentaries and headed the distinguished documentary departments of both Westinghouse Broadcasting and Metromedia Broadcasting. Brenner’s documentary work earned him a total of nearly thirty awards and citations including an Emmy Award. He is also the author of several books, the most recent being I Think There’s a Terrorist in My Soup, a guide on how to use humor and laughter to get through personal problems as well as how to cope with the problems of the world.

Amy Schumer takes the stage on Monday, August 12. (almost sold out) Schumer is quickly becoming the hottest star in the world of comedy, with her blend of what seems outwardly wholesome, but verbally edgy comedy. Schumer made her network debut on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and soon after co-starred on 30 Rock. She is the creator, star and writer of Inside Amy, her brand new Comedy Central show and recently finished Mostly Sex Stuff, which became Comedy Central’s second-highest rated special this year. She was one of the featured comedians on Comedy Central’s Roast of Roseanne, following her breakout performance on last year’s Roast of Charlie Sheen. Schumer most recently on Louie and will next be seen in Season 2 of HBO’s Girls. Other television includes Jimmy Kimmel Live, Conan, and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Amy recurred on Season 3 of Adult Swim’s Delocated and guest starred in the latest season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Films include Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, starring Steve Carrell and Price Check, an independent feature opposite Parker Posey. Her album Cutting placed in the top 5 of the Billboard Charts and has been included on multiple Best Comedy Albums of the Year awards’ lists. Schumer was featured in Rolling Stone Magazine, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and as Variety’s Top 10 Comics to Watch. She’s also written articles for Cosmo Magazine to enormous reader response.

Paula Poundstone returns to the Comedy Club on Monday, August 19.

Poundstone is legendary for her ability to interact spontaneously with audience members in conversations that garner riotous laughter. She is a regular panelist on NPR’s popular weekly news quiz show, Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me. Paula’s commentaries have been heard on NPR’s Morning Edition and her blogs appear in the Huffington Post, and 23/6, as well as the NPR Opinion Page. Television includes comedy specials (HBO, and Bravo), her own show on HBO and ABC, and all the major talk shows. Her CD: I Heart Jokes is recorded live and features her beloved wit.  Her first book, There’s Nothing in This Book That I Meant to Say, (with foreword by Mary Tyler Moore) is out in paperback and on audio. Paula was recently inducted into the Comedy Hall of Fame and just named to a list of top Unconventional People to Follow on Twitter. She has won an ACE award for Best Standup Comedy Performance and an Emmy and Ace Award for Best Program Interviewer. Poundstone was recognized as one of Comedy Central’s 100 greatest stand ups of all time!

Bobby Collins concludes Comedy Club Monday, August 26. New York native and all around funny man, Bobby Collins has appeared in more than 200 stand-up performances around the country each year. In the 1980s, Bobby left a lucrative position as vice president of Calvin Klein to pursue his dream of stand-up and has worked alongside such comedy legends as Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno. Bobby has hosted VH-1′s Stand Up Spotlight; toured with Cher, Julio Iglesias, Dolly Parton and Tony Bennett, among others; and released six comedy CDs, On the Inside, Out of Bounds, You’re Not Coming With Us, Mr. New York, I Wanna Go Home and most recently I’m on the Boat.
